Learn how the NSW Jobs Connect Program can address your workforce skill shortages
The NSW Jobs Connect Program is helping businesses tackle workforce shortages by linking them with skilled international graduates. An upcoming event hosted by Business Hunter will provide insight into how companies can take advantage of the program.

Unlock Global Potential: NSW Jobs Connect Breakfast with Business Hunter, held in partnership with Study NSW and the City of Newcastle, will take place on Thursday, 27 February, at McDonald Jones Stadium from 7:00 AM.
The event aims to give businesses practical information on how to access talent through the NSW Jobs Connect Program, navigate the system, and find employees suited to their needs. Representatives from Study NSW, the University of Newcastle, and SEEK will be present to discuss how companies can use the program to strengthen their workforce.
Labour shortages remain a challenge across many sectors. The 2023 Australian Government Jobs and Skills Australia report found that 36% of assessed occupations were in shortage, with particularly high demand for technicians, trades workers, professionals and community and personal services workers.
With industries such as net zero, local manufacturing, and housing facing these ongoing labour shortages, the NSW Jobs Connect Program offers a way for businesses to access skilled workers. At a time of skills shortages, an ageing workforce, and an urgent need to transition to net zero, it is critically important than ever to ensure all talent in Australia fully use their skills and expertise.
Currently, 230 employers are registered with the program. Businesses that participate gain free brand exposure, access to diverse talent, and invitations to exclusive events on the NSW employment market. The program also supports broader diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, with research indicating a link between diverse workplaces and improved business performance.
The Business Hunter event will provide a forum for employers to learn how the program works and how it can support their recruitment efforts. Attendees will gain practical advice and have opportunities to connect with experts who can help them navigate the process.
