The New South Wales Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is inviting NSW companies involved in hydrogen technology to express their interest in a supported travel opportunity to Fukuoka, Japan, in March 2025.

This initiative, run in collaboration with the Fukuoka Prefectural Government, aims to deepen ties between the two regions and explore hydrogen technology and industry development.

Fukuoka, known for its manufacturing and heavy industries such as Toyota and steel production, is preparing for a major hydrogen industry shift. The prefecture has plans to develop a regional hydrogen supply chain and expects to import four million tonnes of hydrogen annually by 2050.
