Funding to develop technologies for the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries opening soon

A funding opportunity for joint projects investigating innovation in energy-intensive industries will be available soon through the Australia-Austria Industrial Decarbonisation Demonstration Partnerships Program.

A joint funding call for Australian and Austrian industrial decarbonisation projects will open soon.

The Australia-Austria Industrial Decarbonisation Demonstration Partnerships Program will provide funding of AUD$20 million (€12 million). It will:

  • support advancing the development of innovative technologies to decarbonise for hard-to-abate energy-intensive industries
  • strengthen connections between Australian and Austrian industry
  • share knowledge that will benefit Australia and Austria.

Applicants must have at least one partner from both countries. Up to $12 million is available for Australian industry. Australian applicants can seek up to $3.5 million in funding for a single grant.

The call is part of the Australian Government’s investment in international collaboration. It supports Australia’s ambitions to become a renewable energy superpower and the transition to net zero by 2050.

  • 17 April: Austrian and transnational applications open
  • 22 April: Australian applications open
  • 16 July: Transnational applications close
  • 18 July: Australian and Austrian applications close
