Specialty hydrogen sector expertise available to Industry Growth Program participants
The Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC) is teaming up with Cicada Innovations and Climate Salad to boost Australia's hydrogen industry, collaborating to support startups and SMEs as part of the Australian Government's Industry Growth Program.
The Industry Growth Program under the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, contributes to developing Australia's industry and manufacturing capabilities by supporting businesses to develop, prototype and scale new innovations.
By partnering with industry organisations, the Industry Growth Program aims to customise support for small businesses and foster growth within priority sectors, contributing to Australia's economic development and competitiveness.
Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC)'s new AusHETS project, has secured $920,000 over two years to facilitate essential support and advice to hydrogen startups and small businesses taking part in the Industry Growth Program.
The AusHETS project will focus on sectorial specific coaching, commercialization, and growth workshops, tailored industry engagement, access to facilities, and the development of case studies.
In turn, this support is anticipated to grow Australia’s Hydrogen Equipment, Technology & Services (HETS) sector, facilitating the development of new technologies and enabling SMEs to transition from existing industries into hydrogen.
Dr. Fiona Simon, CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council, says it's crucial to support Australian innovation to strengthen the country's role in hydrogen. "This funding will allow us to help referred small businesses in the renewables and low emission technologies sector with specialized advice and support," she explained.
"Our aim is to strengthen our understanding of Australia’s economic complexity and grow our capacity to manufacture key components in an industry that is guaranteed to grow globally."
“We are also excited to be working in collaboration with Cicada Innovations to deliver a number of workshops, such as the Hydrogen Elevate Workshops and Hydrogen Fast Start Program and Climate Salad to tap into its network and take part in industry recognised events.”
