Upcoming Summit attendees invited to explore Port of Newcastle's energy transition efforts
The Port of Newcastle is partnering with the ASFA Investment Summit to offer a unique opportunity to tour the region's clean energy precinct and see firsthand the progress being made towards a net-zero economy.
The ASFA Investment Summit, taking place from September 3-5 in Newcastle, will bring together industry leaders and thought leaders to share insights and ideas on the latest trends and opportunities in the investment world.
The event will feature a keynote address from Anthony Scaramucci, founder of Skybridge and former communications director to US President Donald Trump, who will discuss the potential implications of a second Trump presidency on geopolitics and investments.
One of the highlights of the summit will be the guided boat tour on September 3, which will give delegates the chance to see the Port of Newcastle's Clean Energy Precinct, the Kooragang Island Hydrogen Hub, and offshore wind projects in action. This will provide a unique opportunity to understand how these developments are bringing net-zero investments to life.
On September 5, delegates will also have the chance to take part in a "boots on ground" visit to the former BHP Steelworks site, which is being revitalised by the Port of Newcastle into a Multipurpose Terminal. This will give delegates a firsthand look at the scale and progress of the project, which will play a key role in the Port's transition to clean energy storage and export.
The Port of Newcastle is not only the East Coast's largest deepwater port but also home to the Clean Energy Precinct, making it an ideal location for the summit. The region is at the forefront of Australia's energy transition, with a range of initiatives underway to reduce carbon emissions and transition to clean energy.
