HunterNet’s 2025 International Women’s Day Luncheon will bring together professionals from across the region to recognise the achievements of women working in traditionally male-dominated industries.
To be held on March 7 at the Merewether Surfhouse, this event will explore the power of collaboration, inclusion, and shared vision in shaping a more diverse workforce under the theme #AcceleratingAction
The luncheon will feature discussions on overcoming industry challenges, the role of mentorship, and practical steps to encourage diversity at work.

Two industry leaders will share their experiences and insights at the event:
Stacey Sleeman – Ampcontrol
With more than 20 years in corporate finance, operational performance, and business leadership, Stacey has worked across the resources, industrial manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. Before joining Ampcontrol in 2023, she held senior roles at Anglo American Coal, PanAust, Deloitte, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. As the first female member of the Ampcontrol Board of Directors, she has played a key role in business transformation and operational efficiency improvements.
Clare Larkin-Sykes – Forelight Advisory and New.E
Clare has three decades of experience in the mining industry, corporate finance, and commercial strategy. She has worked in Australia and the United States in banking and export sectors before joining the NSW and Federal Governments, where she developed industry strategies for Australia’s mining, equipment, and technology services sector. Now leading Forelight Advisory, she focuses on integrating government, research, and industry to support economic development in transitioning regions. Clare also serves on multiple advisory boards, including the Newcastle Institute of Energy and Resources and the NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub.
