Renewable Energy Training Workshop for Business & Councils in the Hunter - Online

Join BRC-A for an introductory workshops on renewable electricity purchasing for businesses in the Hunter and New England regions NSW this Winter!

July BRCA Newcastle

Are you looking to switch to renewable electricity for your business?

BRC-A is partnering with Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) to deliver ‘how to’ PPA workshops for business energy buyers to share the basics of renewable energy procurement. EnergyCo is delivering essential infrastructure in the NSW Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) aimed at reducing the cost and increasing the availability of renewable energy in NSW.

Renewable PPAs enable businesses to benefit from low cost, high-value renewable electricity, reduce emissions and share in the benefits these projects deliver to regional communities.

These 2-hour workshops will be held both in-person and online in July – September 2024, and are suitable for organisations buying over 1 GWh of electricity per year. If you typically spend $200,000 or more a year on electricity, it’s ideal for you. Following these introductory workshops, thanks to EnergyCo, we will also deliver a 1-day PPA Training Bootcamp for interested businesses (more details to come).

If you’re a proactive leader and are keen to learn from experts, come along to one of the workshops to find out more.

In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn:

  • How a PPA works, what options are available to your organisation.
  • How other organisations have procured a PPA. Hear from regional companies and councils that have executed PPAs.
  • Community benefits, best practice and group buying.
  • The essentials of building a business case, common challenges and how to manage them.
  • How to access more support.

You don’t need any prior knowledge to attend. However, to get the most out of it it’s best you:

  • Understand your company’s annual electricity use.
  • Consider your company’s main goals for procuring renewable electricity. For example, managing electricity bill fluctuations or reducing carbon emissions.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for energy buyers in corporate, government and other organisations:

  • Energy procurement managers.
  • Sustainability managers.
  • Marketing and Communications managers.
  • Accounts and Finance managers.
  • Contracts / Legal managers.
  • CFOs, CEOs and Managing Directors.

You’ll leave the session with a great understanding of your options and how they affect your procurement, finance, legal and management processes. If you’re considering purchasing renewable electricity through a PPA, we recommend you attend this session.
